Taste the Best Cheese in the World

Join us on Wednesday 10 December for a rare chance to taste the best cheese in the world.

Earlier this year I served on the Super Jury at the World Cheese Awards, where we judged thousands of cheeses to decide the overall champion. From that process, I was able to secure one whole wheel from the actual winning batch of Gruyere. Only three wheels from this make have entered the UK, and we have one of them here in Stamford.

For one evening only, we’ll cut it open and share it with a small group of guests. You’ll be able to taste the cheese as it was meant to be enjoyed, with samples and a glass of wine. I’ll also give a short talk about the judging, what makes this batch so special, and why it took the top spot.

It’s a simple evening, but a very special one. Good cheese, good company, and a once-in-a-lifetime wheel that won’t ever be repeated.
