Over time, the surface of your cheeseboard may become dry and faded. Restore its natural beauty with a light coat of food-grade mineral oil or a very light vegetable oil. For best results, wash your board with hot, soapy water and allow it to dry completely. Apply a light coating of oil and let it soak into the wood for a short while, then remove any excess with a piece of kitchen towel. To eliminate unwanted odours, cut a lemon in half, scrub the surface with salt using the lemon half, then wash thoroughly and allow to dry before reapplying oil.
