Modens Lincolnshire Plumbread
I am yet to meet a cheese that does not go with this bread.
Made locally to our Stamford shop, Modens Lincolnshire Plum Bread is one of those loaves you end up keeping in the cupboard for any cheeseboard moment. The traditional pairing is a good wedge of Lincolnshire Poacher, but honestly, I am yet to find a cheese that does not work with it, soft, hard, blue, the lot.
Based in Spilsby on the edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, Modens is an artisan bakery still following the original recipe developed in 1936 by Leonard Moden. And despite the name, there are no plums in here, plum is the old term for dried fruit.
Each loaf is moulded by hand and baked in its own tin, giving a beautiful golden crust, then packed full of plump sultanas and raisins.
Throw it in your cart and try it out for yourself. If you do find a cheese it does not go with, let me know, I would genuinely be interested.
